Graduation Internship: AI Agents & Business Support

BAS Group is an international family-owned company based in Veghel, the Netherlands. The group operates multiple companies within the commercial vehicle industry and supports customers worldwide with services related to trade, parts, logistics, and digital platforms.

Within BAS IT, new opportunities are continuously explored to use data, automation, and AI to make internal processes smarter and more efficient. During this internship, you will become part of the AI team and work closely with business stakeholders and relevant technical teams, to identify and realize AI-driven improvements across the organization.

BAS has access to a growing landscape of data sources, digital services, and internal systems. This creates opportunities to develop AI-powered assistants, agents, or workflows that support business units in their daily work and help reduce repetitive or manual activities.

What does your assignment look like?

Within BAS, the challenge is not only to build AI solutions, but first to understand where these solutions can create the most value. Business units may have very different needs: some may benefit from AI agents that support internal communication, others may need decision support, process automation, knowledge retrieval, or task execution.

The goal of this internship / graduation project is to act as a bridge between business and technology by investigating which AI agents or AI-supported solutions would best fit the needs of BAS business units, and by translating those opportunities into concrete concepts, prototypes, or recommendations.

Central research question:

How can BAS use its existing services, systems, and data landscape to design AI agents that best support the needs of different business units?

The project can focus, in collaboration with the student, on topics such as:

• Investigating which problems or inefficiencies business units would like support with

• Identifying what type of agent or AI solution fits each use case

• Designing and prototyping AI agents together with relevant teams

• Evaluating how these agents can best connect to BAS processes, tools, and users

• Advising on adoption, governance, and future rollout

Deliverables

At the end of the internship, the student can for instance deliver:

• An analysis of business needs and AI opportunity areas across selected business units

• A structured overview of potential AI agent use cases and their expected value

• A recommendation on the most suitable types of agents for BAS

• One or more POC’s, prototypes, or pilot implementations of AI-supported solutions

• Advice on governance, usability, and alignment with business processes

• Documentation and a final presentation of the results

We are looking for a student who:

• Is currently enrolled in an HBO or WO program such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or Business IT & Management

• Has an interest in AI applications, process improvement, and digital innovation

• Enjoys translating business challenges into practical technical solutions

• Is communicative, curious, and comfortable speaking with different stakeholders

• Has good communication skills in English
