Multi-platform Mobile App Developer

As App Developer at BAS you contribute to a series of in-house mobile applications supporting processes in all layers of the organisation. Simultaneously you keep us in tandem with developments in the overall mobile ecosystem. You’ll have the opportunity to distinguish yourself and have a say in our mobile architecture and development guidelines. 

Your team 

The App Development team’s mission involves safeguarding the availability of live production apps, while consolidating legacy native codebases into new hybrid apps. 

You will be in close contact with product owners and designers, facilitating new business in our redeveloped apps. This team brings together all our digital domains, bridging the gap between departments. Things may get hectic, but you stay cool and make robust and future-proof decisions. 

Since 2023 we’ve built our apps in React-Native with Typescript and functional components. Started in a custom dependency stack, with a growing stake in the Expo framework. We remain curious and don’t exclude other tools, as every project deserves the best tool for the job

Your specifications

• You’re a pragmatist, taking ownership over issues and taking decisive action, even when short on time or first-hand knowledge. You’re a problem solver first, programmer second. 

• Native (Java/Kotlin, ObjC/Swift) or hybrid experience (mobile-first React PWA’s, React-Native, Flutter). If you’re interested in Kotlin Multiplatform, Swift for Android or even Valdi, we'd love to hear it. 

• Proficient in securely exchanging data between multiple services and the mobile application and when applicable, providing a BFF in a Node-based framework. 

• Experience in CI/CD and distribution of enterprise or public mobile applications is a plus. 

• Strong and clear communicator. You’re able to convey complex and abstract concepts to non-technical colleagues, meeting people where they are at. 

• You’re at a near-native level of English. Dutch is a plus.
