PHP Developer

We are BAS, the world's largest online platform to buy and sell trucks, trailers and machinery, among others. We sell from our Veghel location and support sellers worldwide in selling and buying their vehicles. We have grown considerably in recent years! We now sell more than 10,000 vehicles annually.

Currently, we are about to take the next growth step. We are on the eve of launching a completely new online platform that brings together buyers and sellers of commercial vehicles and where we take care of customers in not only buying but also transporting the sold and purchased vehicles by road and water.

The BAS World platform flawlessly integrates all processes of buying and selling trucks without having to physically check in and out in Veghel. As a full-stack PHP developer, you are able to take the lead in writing clean code. You will be assigned to one of the scrum teams as "lead" developer. These teams are working on check-in (the process of checking in vehicles in BAS World) or logistics (the process of shipping a vehicle from one side of the world to the other). You have a goal-oriented personality and plan to take everything to the next level, your coding skills are like your communication: concise, clear and compact.

Your tasks

• Ability to design solutions with design pattern and architecture concepts;
• You write clean and maintainable code according to SOLID principles, follow TDD and test frameworks like PHPUnit;
• You promote a culture of continuous improvement and feedback;
• You are a natural leader by leading by example;
• You are a coach and mentor to several junior developers in the team;
• You are aware of new trends and adapt them into our applications;
• You design solutions with design pattern and architecture concepts.

Your specifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or similar field;
• At least 4 years of demonstrable experience in PHP;
• You are willing to work at least 3 days a week on site in Veghel;
• Excellent knowledge of PHP, Hands-on experience with frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, Zend etc;
• Experience in working with REST APIs, ensuring they are performant and scalable;
• RDBMS (MySQL) and NoSQL databases and advanced javascript concepts, frontend frameworks like VueJS, React is pre;
• Experience converting monoliths into microservices, experience designing and working with CI/CD;
• Experience with tools like Vagrant or Docker (Pre), Version control systems like Git, search engines like Solr or Elastic.
